hid kits, where to get them?

hey everyone, i remember a site someone posted a while back. it was a plain site with a drop down of like 10 different hid kits. 4000k, 6500k, 10000k etc. and they had ballasts for sale seperately. they were shipping for like 300-400. They fit right into the stock locations with out modifications. does anyone know the addy for the site?

Don't worry about it.
The more people I hear that get the Retrofit kits(not the projector ones) say that the beam pattern never works out right. It just shoots it everywhere esp vertically and blinds anyone. When they get it to where it does not blind everyone and they get flashed all the time, the usefull light is not there, because it is all pointed straight down at the ground.
If you really want to get HID's get the projectors. They will do the trick.

A better bet would be to do what Maxima10to1 did in a post on the first few pages of the 4th gen forums. He converted his harnesses and housing to fit 9007 bulbs. It gives you 10 watts more on low beams and I think a little more than that on the high beams. Seems to be a lot better than the HID's as far as the beam pattern. Check it out.

well if you do your own, it'll be around 500 or so not including new head lights, however, HIDtech.com has done a rertofit once to a member named Soulrupture, and they ended up costing right around 900 or so.

h7 and h4 are the only halogens that can be sucessfully converted to HID without any major problems. ( I consider glare a major problem ) With either of those, you can get an OEM HID kit and use adapters to fit them into the halogen housings. In both cases, the adapters allow the beam pattern to remain and prevent glare to oncoming drivers. You can check ebay for "h7 d2s adapter" and "h4 d2s shield" (or some variation of those) and see what I mean. With h3, it is actually possible to fit a d2s bulb in there with some slight modification of the holdown mechanism. Getting an OEM hella or phillips HID kit is just so much better than the rebased bulbs + poor quality ballasts which are in most aftermarket kits from Asia. Such as the McCulloch, Hanabi and z-max kits, and countless others.

There is a lot of really great information on HIDforum.com and it's worth it to spend some time over there. You'll find an answer to just about any HID related question.
