Just TEST DROVE a 1999 BMW M3, but it's back to the MAXIMA for me!
So here's the story....
My Dad's friend works at a local car dealership and gets to bring home demo cars all the time. It just so happens that his Lincoln-Mercury dealership got an amazing trade-in.... a 1999 Blue 5-speed BMW M3!! Last night he surprised us by pulling into my driveway with it. Of course, I was ECSTATIC. I drove that car around the local backroads last evening. All I can say is WOW. It is truely the ultimate driving machine. The grip is phenomenal. I went around turns at speeds I'd never previously dreamt of. No matter how fast I went, I never felt one bit of loss of control. The linear acceleration, the silky smooth shifts, the refined power of the exhaust note, the seating position, the shifter, the various hi-tech options...... It's all ASTOUNDING. I've never had so much fun in a car. Ok, I had to get that out of my system.
But the bad news is... I had to go back to driving my good old max. I find myself itching for more performance capabilities, but I know that I will never be able to approach BMW territory. BUT... there is 1 thing I fell in love with on the M3.... the EXHAUST. So, my question to y'all is this. In order to give the Max a similar exhaust note as the M3, what exhaust system/setup would you recommend?
Thanks guys.
