ordered tein springs s-tech
I just ordered s-tech teins and I have gr-2 struts. With this setup, will I need to get a front camber kit? Which is better, eibach or ingalls?
Also, if anyone else has had any experience with these springs, please give us your opinions on them.
Thanks!

also, i see a few 5th gens riding on s-techs and gr2s. the drop on 5th gens are 2.2 and 1.6, which is close to 4th gens. they seem to be doing fine.
is there a big difference between 4th and 5th generation gr-2s and teins?

I'm runnin GR2s with S-tech for 5 months. Ride is not bad at all. Remember to check your strut mounts , bushing, and dustboots/bumpstops before you put everything back together. And for cambers.... you will need to wait a bit till your springs settle in before you can actually tell. good luck

I'm gonna get a shop to do it for me since every time I do a big project on my car, I seem to mess something else up. So I'm probably going to do the camber bolts all at one time. Thanks for the input Atpham! Thanks also to Drifter and SterlingMax.
If anyone else has an opinion on this, please post.
It would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks again.

It's not only a worry that the GR2s may blow early, but they may not be stout enough to adequately control a stiffer spring, leading to poor body movement control and instability.
Also, if you don't need the camber bolts, I'd avoid them. I've heard from a few mechanics that cars with the camber bolts don't hold alignment as well. If it were me, I'd wait and see first?
Perhaps you could go ahead and buy them, and if you don't need them, you could re-sell or return them. They probably could install them during the alignment, since you won't know if you need them until then anyway. It may cost a few bucks, but it should be WAY easy, and therefore, way cheap.
If they try to rip you off for the bolt install, just do that little part yourself at home, then take the car back to finish the alignment.
Good luck!

The Gr2s with S-Tech.. from what my 5 month has showed me I haven't loss much of handling. It has taken the turns fairly well add to it my FSTB. The rear of the GR2s are a type of setting on the AGX but the front's I doubt that. Unless you have a massive system in the trunk then I would worry about the rear. As for fronts I bet they will wear later on but not sure when. Still in "trials" with them. A lot of people that are on budget and want to go cheap tend to go with AGXs, Illuminas, Konis for the front and GR2s for the rear. That's what I heard from Ange. But as for camber bolts, ALL SPRINGS WILL SETTLE IN. So if you adjust it right away it will for sure change later as the spring settles. Well good luck on your car.

I have the same setup as you. At first the alignment was capable of being fixed, most of it was because of the "toe" not too much on camber.
After like 3-4month of driving to north cali and to south cali since i go to school in south cali and come back to north cali for visits. Oddly my front left cambered -.2 and the rest was off too but were able to be fixed.
I'm running on 16's. So depending on the size of your rims too will also cause a factor in cambering.

should i get my alignment as soon as i lower my car? if i can't make it in for an alignment right away and drive for about a week, should I be ok?
would i have to get my car aligned twice then, if i eventually need camber bolts?
once for after initial install and another for after install of camber bolts (if i need them)
thanks

a week shouldn't harm your tires too much unless you notice a huge camber by looking at your tires, it also depends on how you drive too.
Try to carry a lot of weight in your trunk and stuff to settle the rear springs in quicker. Because for me mines changed after the first time I got an alignment.

im on gr2 and sprints. the gr2 will hold up if your conditions arnt bad. i drive in central florida. all the roads are relitavely new and arnt bad at all. and plus i live 10 mins away from my school so on average i drive about 10-20 miles a day. i have my setup for 4 months now and its not bad at all. but take into consideration on the road in your area and how far you drive.

I have a box with 2 12s in my trunk, so I guess that will help. I live in Towson, MD during the school year and live only a mile away from campus. Then I drive home to Ellicott City, MD for the weekend. I'm hardly in the city so I might be okay.
What does it mean to be cambered? Is that when the wheels are tilted a little bit? Thanks all!!!
