Do I have to remove the current sotck woodtrim before installing the aluminum trim?? If so, how do I go about removing the stock trim.

From what I have read on this forums, some people install the new trim over the current trim..atleast that's what I understood from the posts. However I think that wouldn't look as good because the new trim would 'come out' too much.

Am I confused?

The Wood trim on GLE are actually panels in wood tone. I think that it would be awkward to add aluminum trim on it because the flat pieces do not cover up all the wood.

BTW, My car now has black trim pieces, including 4 door trims, radio trim, shifter surround trim, and the ashtray. If you want to, we can trade the trim pieces (since I have planned about upgrading to wood anyway). The black trim will do much better if you add the Aluminum trim on them. Please reply if you are interested.

The wood trim itself is the panel that covers up the dash, so when you remove the wood, you will see the stereo head unit, shift mechanism, etc..
