an angle eye is not going to do anything for upgrade...it will only make it lok cooler. if you want to go a cheaper way just get a 9004 hid kit. that will upgrade the brightness by alot. a prejector retrofit it rather costly, it is the ultimate, SUVlights.com has a projector and hid kit in one for about $1000.

just get some projectors off of a X5...i read some where in this forum that some guy was using these from a junkyard with his HIDs.

IMO i wouldn't do projectors for looks...i think they look weird on our cars. But if you have an hid kit that would be different.

it is going to be very very hard to find an x5 in a junkyard. since they are relitivly new most of them are auctioned off to the public so that they can be fixed. there is a slim to none chance of fidning these.

if you could find them the projectors are very good. Most epople with projector retrofits use audi a6. if you are going to use projectors there is no reason to have a hid kit that is above 4100k. read up on it,a nd ask some of the members who have projectors how and their experiacne with doing this project.

hey i done the projector route with hids, they look sweet but not much for light output. if you want a bright set of headlights get a set of d2r hids. the projectors are a pain to install and needs a lot of follow-ups to level the units perfectly. hey if you want that route i have a set of 5-series BMW projectors with d2s bulbs that i want to get ride of. hope this hepls.

There was a post recently about upgrading to 9007 bulbs. 9007 provide better light output than the OEM 9004. All you'll have to do is purchase/make a 9007 upgrade wire harness w/ relays and connect it to the battery, 2 grounds and one of the existing 9004 bulb sockets. That way, the 9007 bulbs will be powered by the battery and be triggered by the existing 9004 wiring. You'll still have low/high beams so you'll pass inspection. I've seen the upgrade harness kits go for ~$40 on Ebay.

I just did some x5 projectors in my headlight: They werent all that expensive, $90 for the projector and $285 for the HIDs. They arent that hard to do too.
