That's not a real Nismo product.

It's not a Pacesetter, it's an ebay brand. You have to dent the catalytic converter heat shield for it to fit. I don't know where you saw this, don't pay more than $30.00 for it.

i think so, i know u do for the pacesetter, its really not that big of a deal to dent it. u cant see it, and it wont hurt anything.i think there is a howto on vqpower.com

I saw this the other day too. How do they get away with calling this a Nismo Part? Isn't there laws against this?

I should just pull my motor, stick a Nismo sticker on it, and sell it as a Nismo Crate motor…

yea really, i dunno what u all mean by ebay brand, as if its made by ebay or if its just a company that strives off ebay, but it should definatly be regulated. i would be very mad if i spent any amount of money , to find out its a fake. this is why i try to stay away from ebay, i dont trust it, you never know what your going to get(its like a box of chocolates lol).

Guys. Check the specs of this part. If its all aluminum I would stay away. I've heard of alot of guys snapping their shifters at the track. If you do get one, keep some vice grips in the trunk so you can clamp em on to drive home.

Whoa....so if you get a short shifter, your more likely to snap it...b/c i know at times, i shift very fast and harshly. I am really contemplating on gettin the short shifter made by custom maxima. I'm not really sure if its worth it. I've heard peeps say that it feels a little weird and hard to get into gears? In addition, will denting the cat. convertor affect the exhaust air flow jeopordizing performance?
Thanks a lot your your help..

i have a pacesetter and i like it a lot. doesnt feel wierd plus you can adjust it to where you like. mine isnt too short, maybe thats why it doesnt feel wierd. strong too, i couldnt see snaping it. i think its steel.

i bought that shifter about 5 months ago. mine is not nismo, but just generic. same thing, only w/o the nismo name. ya, ya gotta bend heat shield or itll rub and not work. i paid 24 including shiping for mine off ebay. it is cool, and i cut the top down an inch or so to make the throw even shorter.

You don't dent the cat itself. Whoever told you that needs to be .

You dent the cat heat shield that sits between the cat and shifter assembly.

I cut down my stock shifter about 6 months ago with no problems, cost.... priceless, not worried about snapping it either, the further you get down the thicker it is, infact less leverage, less impact.

I'm fairly positive that the label in the photo is Photoshoped. The image has been photoshoped quite a bit actually, there is evidence of clone tooling near the top of the shaft. Also, the lighting looks incorrect on the label, the color is too uniform. I wouldn't be suprised if the thing has no Nismo label on it at all when it comes in the mail.

I've had my custommaxima.com STS for about 3 months and I'm very satisfied with it except for two things, one of which is product-related and the other is myidiotfriendhelpingmeinstall-related.

First, I'll start off with my friend. He loostened the two bolts on the bottom where it connects to the chassis, and now it rattles because you can't re-tighten them, the dealership couldn't even retighten them either.

Secondly, I think it's too far forward (like, too close to the radio controls and stuff) because I have very short arms and I find 1st, 3rd, and 5th, kinda difficult to shift into. For this reason, I'm thinking of having the bend remelted and the angle readjusted to make 3rd be where neutral is now and neutral where 4th is... but knowing me it'll probably never happen.

oh yes, and any ideas as to when custommaxima is getting their JDM Black Chrome corners in? I've had them ordered since mid-march.
