Knock Sensor No Good :(

it always happens like this...im out enjoying my y-pipe and my Check Engine Light comes on, so i goto autozone to find out what has happened. My Oxygen sensor is messed up...okay fine, the y-pipe just went on, so this means that i gotta go back and check that...but damn...the knock sensor is out too????

i heard that this happens to a whole lot of maximas, so this should mean a whole lot of people should know where to get it for the best price....and for this install im going to go out to maxtuning in Long Island if someone can give me the phone number. I checked out Jerry Rome Nissans website but i dont see the knock sensor...does anyone know the parts code?

help!

To get it from JRnissan, pick your car, go to mechanical tab at top, choose fuel and exhaust from list, choose fuel delivery system, and there it is. Don't forget the "maxima" promo code. I'm not sure about this, but can't a bad O2 sometimes cause the KS code?

Replace the O2 sensor... reset the CEL... check the CEL for codes again in a few days... most likely the O2 sensor problem triggered the knock sensor code. Remember, the knock sensor alone will not trigger the CEL - so just check the codes again yourself in a few days even if the CEL is not lit... if the knock sensor code is posted again, then you'll have to replace that too...

oxygensensors.com - a Bosch OEM replacement will cost 80 bucks or so...
