The higher the number, the harder they get. I use one up front and when I had AGX's on the rear I used 6.

I'm on 2/4 for daily driving. I haven't yet gone down to 1/3 or anything below. When spirited I run 3/8. I'd be interested to see what people run for auto-xin, tracking, 1/4 mile racing. Anyone?

does the settings have anything to do with your height?

so does anyone run 4-8?

I've run 4/8 a couple times...corners real flat but you'll be bouncing all over the place over abrupt, washboard surfaces. I run 3 front, 6 rear daily driving.

Does having the shocks on a stiffer setting wear them out quicker?

I'd say so because there is more pressure inside during compression when they are set to stiffer modes.

I've noticed the skipping on 4/8. Now that I've been riding around on 3/8 today I really like it. I'll try 3/7. Maybe thats the magic number for me. What exactly do you mean by purpoise? I've noticed a bouncy effect when on 4 on the front but last night I really pushed it on 3/8 and had very minimal bouncing.

I had mine at 2/1, I did not like it, I felt everything on the road. I changed it to 3/4 this made it much better.

Iusually run about 2/3 on front and 3/4 on daily driving. Anything other than that for daily driving is way to bumpy.

You guys that are running really soft should try it for a while up higher. It may be stiffer but much more precise and for me running higher actually reduces interior rattles due to the support that the chassis has. I've been riding on 3/8 all weekend. 3/7 and 3/8 are a toss up. Not much of a noticable difference for average driving but at the limit on an uneven road 3/8 creates a bunch of hopping and bouncing.

Ok , here is the my experience with AGX & Eibach. I have tried 3F/6R last summer and have noticed a very harsh ride. 1F/1R is too floaty & scary, rides like a GLE but not quite right. 2F/ 2R is ok and 2F/4R is bouncy on highways. What works for me in NYC and on the highways to Florida is, 2F/3R in the Summer. 4F/8R rides like a Gocart with all the bumps and potholes, but also handles like a G35 coupe.
Now to note , every setting suck in the winter, even 1/1 stiffens up in the winter. The summer months provide a more fluid dampen/compression(correct me on my terminology ) , when compared to winter. I know you did not ask for all this useless info , but I felt obligated to provide it, .

I had my settings on 2f 4r for most of the time even in winter. I just recently pushed up to 4f 8r about a week ago.
It's like i'm in a sports car.
The ride is sicking harsh!. I was on the FDR in Manhatten yesterday and I nearly lost all of my teeth from the bumbs.
AT high speed on the G.C.P. I feel like more secure and responsive.

Question: Is it better to have 4f 8r for high speed highway crusing 80 and up
or to have a softer setting?
