So i went to chage the oil in the mt...

and i could get the filler hole open. so i sprayed so pb blaster and what the he ll the threads have some kinda putty around them. i think it still ne to be changed but does that mean someone stripped the holes and had a leak. is this why the car was soo cheap. i only used a ratchet i think i could get it off w/breaker bar but not sure which way to turn it. towards ground or engine. what should i do?? any suggestions plz.

turn it counter-clockwise to take the plug out, not sure what the putty stuff is, might be just some dried up grease or some teflon sealant.

That stuff is more than likely sealer. The dealership coated my plug with it when they rebuilt my trans.

I just used a 1/2 inche breaker bar, and I put the end into the plug without a socket on it, just the bare end.

as far as the direction to turn it just remember this little grade school saying

Righty tighty, lefty loosey.

you can throw some sealant on if you want, won't be any trouble, but I have never had to put any on my plug when I change tranny oil. just torque it to spec and it should be good to go.

NO!!!! If you care about your car, and shift quality dont use that crap. Also dont use GL-5, even though some aotu parts stores will tell you its better . What you need is a straight GL-4. You might have a hard time finding it so I suggest using Redlines MT-90, which is a synthetic GL-4.
