Drop Resistor Problem

I just did the drop resistor mod today and wired it straight to a switch in the passenger compartment (will post pics later). I love the way the car chirps first and second...never seen an auto that can do that. had my share of problems getting it setup with the switch, but that's all worked out. The two problems i'm having though is when i turn my car on with the drop resistor in normal mode or in shift mode, my O/D light blinks for a couple seconds then it's fine...overdrive works fine with the trans too. the other problem is my check engine light is on and i can't reset it. it's throwing 12 slow and 5 fast flashes. i dont' know what that means. any help with this stuff would be great cause it's concerning me and ****ing me off at the same time.

It's completely normal. Happened to Jime, happened to me, no worries.

does the CEL ever go off though? i just sucks that it's on all the time cause if i ever do have a real engine problem, i'll never know cause it's on constantly.

and i just realized that to pass emissions i can't have a check engine light on otherwise i'll fail.

If the OD light blinks it means there is a problem with the trans components somewhere. IT'S NOT OK. Just follow the directions for checking what it it and you'll know the problem.

I have a problem as well but nothing happened. It might be a sensor or something that sends wrong signals or something to the TCU or the ECU. The directions are in the how to or the FAQ.

No, it won't. It's just a normal ECU with modified fuel maps and stuff like that.
