fuse keeps blowing

My taillight fuse under the steering column keeps blowing so the corner lights, bumper lights and taillights do not work. I did the corner light "rewire" to make it brighter and it worked fine. Im using 12v 35/5w Polarg bulbs. Are the bulbs causing the fuses to blow? If not, what else can it be?

That bulb is supposed to be a 27/8w I believe. Meaning you are putting out 35w which is more than the 27 it's rated to take.

opps, I didnt see that. Thanks for all the replies. Does anyone have a problem with the wires running the 10amp fuse? Will the 35watt bulbs be too much for the stock wiring?

maybe the soldering's coming loose? Mine came un-soldered and I now keep blowing fuses... so I just took the bulbs out of the corner lights to keep it from blowing until I get it re-soldered

If your soldering is coming apart maybe you shouldn't keep soldering.

I dont see how the corner lights have anything to do with the brake lights...

I did have the same problem where my brake light fuse kept blowing and blowing all the time. It ended up being the brake light switch... I have an extra one laying around if anyone needs one, brand new.

No it wasnt exactly necessary but half his posts are that way...

Soldering isnt the easiest thing in the world and theres almost an art to it so dont feel bad. When I was building up computers I had it down to an art... now I'm lucky if I dont burn myself...

The brake lights work, but there was not light back there at all when i had my headlights on. Does anyone know if it will be ok to run the 35watt bulb with a 10amp fuse?
