I made my own front lip lol *pics*
I'm pretty sure I figured out a way of how to harden up the vinyl (Not reinforcing it, but rather changing the physical properties to make it stiff, yet a bit brittle) . I'm working on making sideskirts that won't look so ghetto out of this ****.
So basically.. not to insult any of you, but you guys want to fabricate your own front lip with building materials that aren't meant for a car and still have expectations that it looks good? Yet you continually nagged on my car for stupid little things ; ie. (wheel size, low drop, taillights, etc..) but then again i did ask for negative comments
so, in the end the only thing left i have to say is I do think that the red maxima is probably the only one so far that can pull off the "lip" idea.

My stiffening project worked. I used 1/4" soft copper water line to support the cove base. I put one piece on top of the other, taped them together, then used the same Scotch brand tape to stick it to the back bottom of the lip. Its stiffer than a wedding p3cker.
i'm not hating.. i just think the one on the red maxima looks better, for the reason that it looks thinner and he might of took more time on his to perfect it? i'm not one to say, but his has a look yours doesn't? just my two cents..

If you do a whole body kit with the cove base material, a good match might be to find a cool pattern wallpaper and wallpaper the rest of the car. And we could put an office cubicle partition between the front and back seats with a computer, office phone and a cut out Dilbert cartoon pasted to it. The name of the car would then have to change too. Perhaps, MaxCorpa? or MaxOffica?
Just messin around.... :-)
I can understand the Org peeps talking about the down-side. The front spoiler looks so good.... but if anyone ever asks...ouch. How do you explain wall moulding...

i think im gonna give this a try. if you tear it off, does the double sided tape leave a residue?
earlier today i thought it looked really good on the red max, but the more that i look at it, the weirder it looks... especially on the beige. dude that looks pretty funky imo... :|

Oh hell....it looks fu.cking horrible on that pebble beige 95/96. Now after I am drunk/red right now, I am starting to think that this thing is big time ghetto...though the 2.5" one still looks half decent on the red max.

u drive a Max? i've seen a few around...
I have an S14 but I've seen the cars in the F lots. I'm third year arc, but my little sis and my girlfriend were both first years and lived in the dorms, so I was there all the time. Must say, you guys have done a much better job with the lip than the two cars he got the idea from, they are both pretty haggard...especially the 7.
i was in home depot with another member today buying some wiring stuff and we looked for this stuff. found it eventually but they only had 4" and it would have looked bigtime ghetto. they had it in white and some other colors too but i think it might look too cheap but it would be worth a shot for $4. it's just too bad they don't have the thinner stuff, maybe we could cut it with a razor and make a fine line? i just wouldn't want to waste all the time doing it to later hate the results. worth a shot though if you have the time to do it.

the 4 inch lip only works on black cars imo nothing else..
Nope, names Greg. My 240 was the purplish/gray color S14 with an R33 front bumper that's painted *almost* to match, but it scratched to hell. I swear...she used to look beautiful. I blame architecture for ruining her, I have no time or money anymore. What dorm did you live in? My sis was in Alamitos and if you lived there, or even in Aliso or Montecito, there's a good chance you know her or at least know of her, she's a rambunctious kid

I might try this for the hell of it because i got some scrapes on the bottom of the bumper that this would cover. Wonder if just a sh!tload of double sided tape would hold it (3in lip, versus 4inch), cuz i dont wanna put any holes on the bumper if i dont like it later...
VERY nice originallity luda!!!!!!!!
