do the ebay intakes/CAIs replace the rubber accordian(sp) section?
i'm looking to buy the CAI from ebay. i figure with the two pieced ones i can re-locate the filter back into the engine bay during winter raining season. also, when i installed my homemade CAI in my G20, i had to cut off a section of the battery tray in order to cut out a hole for the 3" tubing. is it neccessary to do the same on the maxima?
Has anyone used these CAI's off of ebay yet? Would it be worth it to get one of these and use my JWT filter on it? I am always afraid of buying a product that should be around $150-$200 but sells for $20-$40. I guess I am just a skeptic. I'd be afraid it doesn't fit or that I would lose power.
The ebay ones work fine, I have tried both the Injen and PR knockoffs and I think they are just as good or better because they are aluminum which is lighter and dissipates heat better.
The biggest problem with them is the filter which is usually a real cheapie but that is easily remedied with a replacement with one of your choice.
