Moved my amp cable and moved my intake, car runs better...

My car was running like cr@p, like feels like there was no power, everytime I hi the gas, the RPMS wouldnt move, like something was clogged, the car would shut off by itself randomly, my air/fuel ratio gauge was reading rich all the time. I asked my mechanic was possibly could be the problem. First off he looked at my intake and "wiggled" it a little bit with his hand, like was pushing the midpipe a little bit, it wasnt loose, he was just checking it out. Then he takes my amp battery cable and moves it (the fuse part) next to my filter, I had it run close to the MAF and middle of the midpipe, towards the middle of the engine instead of along the side. When we go to check out the car again, its not having any of those problems anymore. My mechanic says that it could either be a bad MAF sensor, bad TPS or maybe the amp cable was causing voltage problems. What do you guys think? Thanks

i dont think the amp cable would do that unless u are running too large or small of a power wire for ur system what size wire do u have and how much wattage is ur system?

interesting sounds like it could be the power wire emitting some electricity outside of the insulation sending weird signals to the maf, glad it got fixed

They say to run power wires down the opposite side from the speaker etc wires, so a properly working amp power wire must emit some kind of signal. The MAF must have been picking it up. Congrats on finding your problem. Good info to know.

Well teh car isnt perfect, I still have the wire somewhat close to the MAF, Im wondering if I try to seclude the wire and run it through another route, maybe the car will run better, who knows. Thanks for the comments guys

The wire could be emitting RF interference if enough juice is flowing through it... in theory it could cause problems with any sensitive electronics nearby. You should probably re-route the cable, or try to use some cable shield to cut down on the RF noise.

Or, your MAF may be bad and the the "wiggle" to it might have jerked it back to life temporarily....

inductance=When one circuit induces current flow in a second nearby circuit

it happens when high powered wires induces power on another wire this site explain better look for inductance
