Angel Eye Type Mod...Comments Plz.

Please take into account that this is still a work in progress. The angel eye/bar is currently on the outside of the headlight but will be mounted on the inside. The blue LEDs are just temporary since that was the only color I currenlty had at hand. I will be switching it to a 16000mcd white LEDs once I get them. This mod has been a pain in the a$$ since the angel bar is very fragile once you cut into it and start molding it to the shape of the headlight. I have already snapped 3 of them and just wondering if I should even complete this project. Please give me some feedback because I'm about to call it quits on this project.

I thought about butting a bar of white LEDs too there on the bottom, but figured it would look kinda ricey having leds where they are not supposed to go. However I will keep my opinions to myself since I haven't seen any done before and haven't done mine.

p.s. Where did you find 16000 mcd???

the ambers are the only thing making that project look bad. i think if you can find a color that wont get you pulled over for. i cant wait to see how it's gonna look once its done.

Again, the blue color is only temporary and will be swapped for white. I used it only to test the angel bar in order to get a feel for what it could look like. I found the 16000mcd white LEDs on ebay from a seller from Hong Kong. Hopefully, I should get them tomorrow or Sat. I think that the hyper white color angel bar will blend in nicely with the amber corners. If I decide not to finish this project, I would just drill some holes to the top of the headlights and mount the LEDs in there. If I do that, I would probably go with yellow LEDs instead. Anyways, I'm still on the fence so plz keep the comments coming.

Exactly right. I bought the rod from Home Depot for ~$2 each. I am on my third one since cutting the slits is proving to be very difficult since the cutss need to be somewhat uniform and equal distance from one another. On top of that, I found out the hard way that you should mold the bar first before cutting since after cutting, the bar is prone to warp wildy when heated. Thanks for the vote of confidence, it's appreciated.

It would be cool if you could somehow hide the actual LEDs and just have the light reflect off the lenses...like if you cover up the lightbar on the bottom pic and just see the dim blue light reflecting in the headlight.

Your project will look cool tho...someone on the org with a white max did kinda what you are doing...having white leds run along the entire bottom of the headlights.

Looks real good to me! I never saw anything like that and I'm pretty sure it will look sick when it will be white. If it's not too hard and cheap enough, I'll give it a try too so please complete this project and take pics.
