This is in reference to that annoying bracket, the one on the driver side strut tower which is in the way when installing some models of Front Strut Tower Brace on the '99 Maxima. It seems to serve no purpose.

I looked under the hood of a 5Gen Maxima today. The engine is similar to our 4Gen. However, the air cleaner housing is larger and shaped differently. It had several mounting bolts, one of which went into (you guessed it) that bracket.
