Queston about differential bearing problem with 4th gen 5 speed maximas…

Have a quick question about it, was this an issue that could present itself in all 4th gen maxima’s or was it only 95-97’s that where prone to the problem? Leaving 98/99’s with no chance of developing the problem.

I have known about it happening in 95,96,97, and 98 maximas and I30. Don't know about 99's.

Hmm compared to 95-97's maybe a smaller percent of 98/99's where effected with it, but still had a chance of developing the problem.

Well mine is a 97 and its getting worse by the day. I need to take it to a shop to have it done. But i have a friend that has a 98 and his has more miles than mine does and still no problem or sign of showing it. Has anyone else done this by them selves?

I suspect we'll see this all the way to 2001. It's just as matter of time, as newer maxima's age and rack up the miles, that we'll start seeing all the reports. Nissan hasn't so much as released a TSB. If they don't recognize it as a reliability issue, they probably haven't fixed the problem.
