Bose stereo ERR problem

I have been getting this problem off and on lately with the Bose CD player. It would give the 'ERR' message to some of my CD's that I burned. Funny thing with this is that it would play it sometimes and other times it would give this ERR message. It's only been happening recently. And at times, this ERR message comes up with CD's that I purchased (not burned by myself).

I was wondering if anyone knows what the reason is? or if I should just clean the CD player? I know the CD player acts weird when it gets really hot or when it gets really cold...so I am not sure if this could be the reason since it is summertime here in NYC.

anyone with similar problem or how to address this? It's driving me bonkers!!

yeah it happens when it's hot out just clean it and if it acts up let the laser cool down you don't want to burnout the laser so when you burn you CDs burn at a lower speed that helps and if that does not work you would have to buy a different brand of CDs to burn on.

It will also give you the err if the cd is scratched to bad for the laser to pick up the track. I have the same problem with certain brands of cd's I found that TDK color data CD-R 700mb disc give me no problems at all.

I did notice that when I go on long trip and I played about 4-5 cd's continuously...the CD does get hot. I didn't know about the possibility of burning out the CD light though. That is really good to know.

I try to burn the CDs in 4X speed...I wasn't sure if there is any tricks to prevent the ERR...

They sell CD's with little brushes on them to clean the lens.

Clean that thing.
It is not hard.
If you can look, you can get a cleaner for DVD's and laser lens cleaner. That is what i got.
