So I decided to ditch my fog lights.

After getting really ****ed at my O2 sensor, I decided to work on something I know I have the tools for. I got to looking at my foglights. I knew the passenger side bulb was out, and I thought about changing the bulb. So I got down in front of the car and went to work. About that time I realized that I was continuing to just waste money on my fog lights cause I've caught soo many rocks with them and they had sooo many tiny chips in them, that I would continue to blow bulbs since humidity and moisture had such easy access to the inside of the lenses. Soooo. Off they came. I now have to "all chipped to Hell" fog lights, two brackets, and two bulbs sitting in the garage. All gone, and I'm not planing on putting them back in. I think I'm gonna make something actually useful out of the fog light openings on the bumper. My plans are to design some duct work that runs from the front bumper to the front brakes so that they stay cool during road races. I feel its much more practical than fog lights on the race track.

I don't know if you really want them. Like I said, the lenses are pretty chipped up. Thats why I took them off.

And No, the vents wont be real good for street use, but they will probably work pretty good at the track. This is not gonna be a mod for you street queens.

David,

I thought GXE model does NOT come with foglight.

Anyway, I have a 95 SE and I want to replace the passenger foglight. But I have no idea how to remove it! It looks quite complicate to me.

Can you tell how you did it? A step by step procedure would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

You can buy thick clear plastic tape to cover the glass lenses to keep the moisture out. I did this with my headlights on my old car. Worked well.

Jeff, there are so many chips in them, it just defrags the light all over the place. They're beyond help. These southern states that just throw down tar and gravel on the roads have brought havoc to the whol front end of my car. I'll be looking for a repaint before long I think.

I feel your pain.

My driver side fog light got demolished sometime this week. I was sitting outside and a friend asked me what happened to my car (never words you want to hear).

The duct for the brakes is a good idea. I dont like that intake idea much. If the duct runs straight to a funel. I may be wrong but what happens if your driving and it starts to rain badly? wont all that make its way inside? I wouldnt imagine a hydro-lock but do you see where im going with this?

Hey, d_warner.. you know that little piece on the side of your fogs that comes off to reveal the screw? If you don't want your fogs i'd be glad to take that little piece off your hands, the passenger side one, some how it fell off..

When I bought my car, the little plastic caps were not on there that cover the screws. Sorry man. I'm heading to Home Depot today to see what parts they have to help me with brake ducting. Earlier this week I painted the area where the fogs used to be. Painted them black, and car looks much more agressive now. I like it.

hey, mine fell off too. I have been meaning to make a junk yard run and see if I could find one, but I haven't had the time or short term memory. I need one for my drivers side. Anyone have a spare?
