Wireing up the MEVI for Tach Signal ??
Ive had my tach signal tapped at the #6 coil at the top left hand side of the engine...well tomorrow or Thur I am going to change it to inside of the car and tap at the ECU...I think the connection at the Coil isnt a good idea and I may be getting a hesitation from that ??
well any good writeups or explinations as to what wire to tap under there at the ECU ?? Its pretty much take the connection off of the #6 Coil, and move it down to the ECU wire for the tach ??

Have you had your ECU out before? The wire you want is white with a green stripe. It's buried in the mess of wires pretty good so it may be hard to find. I believe it's next to a couple purple wires....and I think a Haynes manual will give you a wiring diagram of where it's at as well.
Your gonna have to take disconnect the harness from the ECU, undo the bundle of wires to search for the white w/ the greens stripe. Tap it and rebundle the wires back together.

Never had the ECU out before
Its it more reliable then having it on one of the coil packs ??
when tapping, do I need to solder or can I use a regular red wire tap ?
Could having the RPM signal from then effect how the car runs ??

I tapped the TAM screw on the back of the gauge cluster for the tach signal for the Summit RPM switch. Pulling the dash apart wasn't the most fun Ive had but it wasnt all that difficult either. Much safer option than cutting the ecu harness. I'm not that brave!
Cheers!
