Clear Bumper Lights... how do the blinkers blink?

On 97 max... when turn signal is activated... what blinks the bumper lights or the side lights of the headlights?

On a '97 model, only the front portion >>

of the bumper lamps blink. The side portion of the bumper lamps is only dimly lit and serves as a side marker. The clear lamps adjacent to the headlamps are parking lamps...they serve to aid in the illumination of the sides of the road. Also, they're secondary purpose is to act as city lights for when headlights are unnecessary, but some sort of lighting is needed in order for others to see you.
