Guys

Swapping an 02 motor in a 4th gen, is it something doable with some
mods or just impossible.

No, Ni_Nos_Maxima is talking about swaaping the internals, ie. pistons/rods. Unixsvr-4 is talking about a complete motor swap.

I think the point is........the 2k2 is a 3.0 so why swap? Why swap a 3.0 with a 3.0?

What the guy was saying was get a 2k3 or higher which is a 3.5, if your going to swap.

2k2 engine does not have wire throttle? hmm....that does make it more complicated. If i only had the time, I'd attempt it......

Cool, when I hit the lotto this'll be my first mod. Are there any fitment issues, such as axles lengths or accessories in the way? Just curious.

And when you let off the throttle, the TB plate actually closes slowly to reduce emissions, it doesn't slam shut like cable operated TB's. And when you start getting close to redline, the ECU starts closing the throttle to reduce power and make you shift without hitting cutoff.
Now why would you want to change that to a drive by wire? Wouldn't it be easier just to transplant the electrical system instead of running cables? It shouldn't be too difficult to mount that stuff by the pedal.....

I agree that 2K2 is also 3.0, but then how the hell they are generating 255hp
comapre to 190. I will be happy with additional 65hp. and the difference between 2K2/3.0 and 2K3/3.5 is what 10hp ???

Do a little research, you are on a Maxima website it should'nt be that hard. 2002 and 2003 Maximas have the 3.5 liter engine. The 2000-2001 use the 3.0.

That's what I thought that 2K2 and up is 3.5.
