wheel bearings...
you can jack up the car on the suspect side and hug your wheel/tire...and try to move it/shimmy it from side to side...if there is excessive play, then the bearings are bad...
did you do the anniversary headlight thing yourself? how hard or how long did it take you? what do you need? got a write-up from somewhere?
other than the shimmy test, I don't know a symptom while driving that would let you know you have a bad wheel bearing...I wish I did!

i have a bad rear wheel bearing.. i get this "wha wha wha" sound while driving.. and now sice it has gotten worse every time my car is slanted to the left the sound gets louder. and when making right turns i get a rubbing sound.. my car is almost stock with some mods but no rims. my maxhas 117k on it. are you having similar problems?
Hmmm.....I thought that was how you test to see if you have a faulty balljoint.
If what you say is true, then what causes the rattling noise when going over a bump. It kind of sounds like a rattlesnake. I'm not talking about the clicking noise accustomed with bad CV joints.
