Muffler tip recommendations

i'm getting super dynomax turbo muffler and i need a tip, preferably 3 1/2 to 4". What tips are you guys using? doesnt have to be for a dynomax muffler, i would like to see all aftermarket tips just to get a basic idea of what looks good on the maxima. And any good recommendations on where to get one at a nice price?

Why would you just want a muffler tip? If you are racing your car, a muffler tip would do nothing more than add extra weight to your rear end, therefore slowing down your car. It serves no purpose other than to "look" good, and most often not even that. And a "tip" doesn't enhance the sound in any way...so why bother with a tip? Unless of course you wanna go with weight reduction and remove the entire muffler and add the tip to the end of the straight pipe...

Damn, Newbie. READ his post, instead of taking the time to write a useless post. Oh by the way meccanoble is SC'ed I am sure he has a little more knowledge then what you provided.

meccanoble: I am in the same boat, as I need to find a tip as well, Magnaflow has some nice SS tips, I am in search for a Slant tip similar to Greddy's Stlye. Let me know if you come across any, perferably a 2.5 inlet and 4 - 4.5 Outlet.

Some of you guys are just plain silly about weight reduction. I mean who gives a **** if it adds a couple pounds. It's not like everyone who owns a Max on the org. has to qualify for NASCAR. Get serious!

haha, this has to be the funniest thread ever!!! WTF was that noob saying about weight reduction?! LMAO!!! Thanks guys and thanks speedcrazie for having my back. I have a full 2.5" exhaust setup and my muffler doesnt come with a tip at all so i want something for looks. I actually have a muffler so i dont want to go for the "i dont have a muffler so my car is slower than it looks" setup.

I may hit up walmart cause u really cant go wrong for 12 bucks . I prefer 4" though. I'll see if they have it. I'll also check out other discount stores in the area. If i luck out with something descent i'll tell the world .

2 lb tip gonna slow me down? how bout the 280 pound driver

I just got a generic tip from pepboys here... I think it's made by Performance Racing? At least thats what it says on it. Looks pretty good and I think it was only like $15 or so.

Good luck! Hope you enjoy the Dynomax as much as I am mecca!!!

lol the funny thing is i ordererd the wrong muffler. Instead of getting a full center setup i got the right side setup or something like that. Was gonna take too much custom work to put in so i ordered another one which should be here tomorrow and sent the old one back for credit. I was so ****ed when i got to the shop...hopefully i'll see what i'm missing tomorrow

Yeah I am sure that extra 2 pounds from the exhaust tip is really going to slow his car down

Did you guys keep your stcok b pipe, or aftermarket? AND do you have any resonators? I don't have resonators and I want to replace my stock muffler. Just wondering how it sounds.

i kept stock b pipe and just cut off the stock muffler and welded the dynomax on. no extra resonators and i think it sounds pretty good for a <$50 mod just a little louder than stock.
