The CF will will crack if it is hit against a curb. Depending on how hard you hit it will determine the amount of damage. If its just a bump, the clear coat will scrape and you may see some flex cracks.
If you bang it hard, it will completly crack and be destroyed.
There is no "flex" in this lip. It will not handle any type of abuse.
I recently took my car to a local tint shop to have my rear window tinted, when they were done the parked my car to close to the curb and bumped the lip. When I came to pick the car up I immmedialty could see where the lip had scraped(left white chalky residue from the clear coat) and my lip was scraped pretty bad.
I pointed it out to the shop owner and apologized and said he would have their fiberglass guy try and fix it, if he could not they woould replace it.
They were able to fix the scraped clear coat by lightly sanding it and refinishing it.
As far as I know, Ionic is the only Co. making the CF lip.

The only way around that problem would be a Urethene (stillen) lip with CF sheet applied on top?

The cf ones crack easy, and **** up the bumper when they flex, And it sucks when they tear, from over flexing..

Yeah the CF lip looks pretty nice IMO, and would be fine on a show car, but for the practicality of a daily driver I don’t think it’s a good idea, it’s just too easy too break and then you are out $350 for a lip. Where as if you had the Stillen, it would have just bent in a maybe lost some paint.

If your careful, you'll be okay.
Mine still looks new. But I mainly just drive back and fourth from work.
If you have large dips, or uneven roads watchout. The lip is not forgiving and it will break upon impact.

I'd say if my car was half an inch lower my cf lip would have been destroyed by now, but I've been really lucky so far. Most of the roads I frequent are in good condition and I'm really careful around parking spots with curbs (I usually just back in). I got one when they first came out and all I have are two small scuffs on the underside which aren't really noticeable.
