My car failed emissions

I have a aftermarket exhaust. I was wondering if I switch spark plugs and see if I can get new O2 sensors If I can pass cause last year I had the same setup and my car passed.

Thanks

Are you getting any CEL codes? If you aren't getting 02 Sensor codes it's unlikely they are the cause of the failure.

Plugs may help a little. I'd check all of your vacuum lines for leaks, take apart your air intake and give your intake and TB a good cleanup. Put in a new air filter and make sure your intake connections are all tight when you put it back together.

Also, change your oil and run 5w-30 with a can of Seafoam in it for a couple hundred miles before you retest.

If you do have 02 codes then you should do the cleanup stuff B4 you replace the sensors. That way none of the crap in your engine will end up in the new sensors.

It can also help quite a bit to put some of that G44k fuel system cleaner in your tank. US detergent additives in gas are crap. They cause more injector spray pattern failure than even the dirt will. A good gas detergent additive will correct this in a couple hundred miles.

P.S. I have a 95 and had to go through all of this stuff to get mine to pass last year.

A CAI will not effect emissions if it was installed properly.
In fact, a CAI will actually reduce emissions if you are running premium gas and keep everything else tuned up right.

How many miles on your car? Did you change your CAT when you added the exhaust?

They have to tell you why you failed and you have 15 days to fix it free of charge. Tell them to give you printout and ask them what is wrong

The only code that comes up is the Knock sensor. I have over 184,000 miles on my car.
