LOL, your right. I definitely am a newbie. And I'm sorry this is such a dumb question, but what exactly makes those headlights cefiros. Ive seen the word cefiro on a couple of things in this forum. Is it the name for a maxima in another country or something?

What's that thing hanging out from the lower part of the front bumper/fender?

Take a far away pic, I want to see the whole front end.

I'll explain the history The North American Nissan Maxima (95-2003) is basically a variation of the Nissan Cefiro, which is found in Asia (and imported in mass amounts to NZ lol).

The Nissan Maxima found everywhere else in the world, and the Infiniti I30/I35 look exactly the same as the Cefiro. If you slapped a Maxima/I30/I35 badge on a Cefiro or vice versa, the untrained eye would not be able to tell the difference (unless they looked inside the Inifiniti's which use a different dash design).

Engine wise, the Cefiro differs a little. Most used the VQ20 or VQ25, with a few rare ones using the VQ30DET. This is mainly due to taxes put in place within Japan which makes owning cars with large engines more expensive.

Cefiro's also came stock with the much sought after one-peice headlights that are only found on Cefiro's. These aren't a perfect fit for North American Maxima's, unlike the Maxima's found in the rest of the world or the Inifiniti's.

They are a perfect fit for 96-99 Infiniti I30s, however.

yeah they do look like they fit like butt. it is from a different styled car tho so you cant really expect an exact perfect fit. maybe do a i30 front end conversion so it fits better? i dunno. looks like theres a lotta gap around the headlights. is it as bad as it looks or a little better?

You're not the only one. This is probably the #1 reason I wouldn't get them. Don't get me wrong, they look mighty fine on your car but i couldn't live with that gap in between the fender and the light.

Plus those don't have projectors.

Same reason I didnt get a set, the fitment sucks... really really sucks. Obviously then werent made for our cars. They fit I30's perfectly... so its kinda like trying to fit I30 headlights into a Maxima.. its not gonna happen
