cleaned battery terminals.. car startin weird

just cleaned my battery terminals with a baking soda/water paste and made it shiny . only weird thing is there is some hesistance when I started the engine (about 3/4 second into it turning over). Is this normal? Will this go away after a while? I'm scared.

Another thing. There is another panel looking thing between the throttle body and the air box. It almost looks like another air filter compartment, but then I doubt it. What is that? I wanted to clean my throttle body, but I saw that and then I said forget it. Thanks for the replies.

Dumb question:
Did you also clean the clamps that go onto the battery posts? Cleaning the posts only will do exactly what you are describing (I've done it ).

I believe you are looking at the resonator on your intake. It's just a plastic box, don't worry about pulling it off. If you don't have one already, get a Chilton's or Haynes manual. They have a lot of information that will help answer your questions.

I did clean both posts and clamps. I don't know if I didn't clean it enough or I have to put petroleum jelly on like it said on a couple sites to protect it.

When installing an intake, does the resonator come off or does it stay intermediary to the intake and tb?

It depends on the intake. Some, like the pop-charger will not. Others like the CAI's and "short ram" do.

since you removed the clamps, you probably reset the ECU and when you started it up, its probably re adjusting itself. or, you didnt remove the oxidation thats on the surface, get some sand paper and start sanding the inside of the clamps and if you dont have a battery post brush, just sand the posts
