Buying an MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor)

My 95 Maxima's MAF is bad, does anyone know what is the best/cheapest place to buy a replacement? I checked www.car-part.com and am going to call a few of those places. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Thanks,
I just ordered one today. Autozone had it for $212.99 plus a $40 core charge. I had to pay $258.99 to get it because it wasn't in stock and I wanted it by tuesday. By the way, what was your car doing to make you realize your mass air flow sensor was bad?

Hi Everyone, thanks for the info on where to get a cheaper MAF,

Max79 -- My 95 Maxima was having idling jerking, black smoke from the exhaust when I start the engine from cold. Also, the rpm would drop while I am driving (I am also thinking that there is a vaccum leak). The error code from the check engine light was 0102, which is the MAF. I also follow the Haynes manual to check the voltage of the MAF and the voltage was off. Here is the oddest thing, I was just taking off the MAF so I could take it with me to the junkyard tomorrow. I decide to recheck the voltage and everything was fine. I reinstalled the filter (I have a K&N Stillen cone filter) and everything seems to be fine. I am going to see how things go tomorrow and I'll report back. thanks,

You probably over oiled the K&N and you blew the MAF.

Hi Big D -- The K&N is brand new, but it does come pre-oiled. I cleaned the MAF a couple of times with electronic cleaner already because of the black smoke from the exhaust when the engine is started from cold. I am keeping my fingers crossed about the MAF, I just cleaned it with electronic cleaner again. I'll keep you all updated.
