argh.. illuminating clock all the time cracked my dash

When taking the clock portion out, it says to wedge out the part where the hard plastic and the softer part of the dash meet. I did that, but then it looked like the middle vents were also connected to it. Hence, the crack and chunk missing from my vents. Anyone have advice? Never thought this simple mod would be so irritating. Thanks

What kind of advice you want? Your only option to fix it is going to be to replace it. Try the junkyard.

Use a butter knife, or something very slim to get in there. Pop off each side, then the bottom, then you can press the whole unit down and pop out the top.

Here is a pic of it removed:

Has a few tips (skip past some of the stereo stuff):

went at it again and got it off.. if I only knew that the vents came out together as one whole unit, i wouldn't have gone through this. Thanks for your replies.

yea...bad luck for real...that was one of the easiest mods...but then again thats for someone thats already been back there before. the first time i had to pop that piece off was when i was taking out the stock stereo. But I did lose the piece that makes all the vents move the same way at the same time on the right side...so u have to move each piece individually.

As far as no climate control lights...u most likely cut the wrong wire...but since u didnt cut whole thing and it should still be hanging there...splice em together (make sure u match wires)
