Congratulations.. and welcome

yes they do make clear lenses.. best place to find them for sale is Ebay...

Aftermarket stuff.. this will depend on what mod you are doing..

have a look here:

https://maxima.org/maxfaqs/index.shtml

and here:

http://web2.airmail.net/scutchen/max_faq/

it will answer most of the questions you wish to be answered

is the rattle while open? or while opening?

rattles?

Get use to rattles. The interior of my '98 is one big rattle. Just buy some foam weatherstripping, or similar product, and just start stuffing areas were you think there are rattles. I usually try and apply pressure to areas that I think are causing rattles. If the rattle stops when you push on an area, try to place foam or some sort of shim to try and 'sure' up the area. Or, do what I do sometimes - just turn up the radio and try to forget that Nissan build quality isn't that good.

Ahhhhh, the sunroof rattle. I think you'll find that it is the spring loaded wind deflector. When the roof is open put your hand thru and grab the front edge of the opening. Your hand should be on the deflector, hold it and see if the rattle stops. I removed mine completely and I'm eventually adding a wind deflector on top of the car.

What are you guys talking about? Thet build quality is great in a Maxima. I mean, I don't drive your car, but the build quality and fit and finish in my car is excellent. Hell, my car is 4 years old with 63K miles and the interior still looks new. I'm a very picky person and rattles drive me absolutely CRAZY!!!(used to drive Ford Taurus SHO, go figure.....)However, with the Max, I couldn't find a rattle even if I tried. The leather looks as good as it did when it was driven off the lot. The interior even still has that new car smell!(no lie!) Sorry it's bad for you guys!

I've heard a LOT of people complain about rattles on these cars...
even the 5th Gen.... like the windshield pillars and somewhere behind/near the radio

thanks for the reply everyone...By the spring loaded wind deflector thats the one on the inside right? the cover that you can pull to close the sun roof?...It is really load when I drive.....just rattles when its open or closed. And it doesn't seen to have anything to do with the actual sunroof I don't think. Is there anyway to fix this or is taking out the indise cover my only option.. I have an outside deflector.

Yeah, it's on the inside front. It's not the cover you can pull closed. It a black steel bar that goes left to right across the front inside of the sunroof. Mine rattled when closed, banging up against the sunroof. If you hold it while driving over bumps, your rattles should disappear.
