r32 Headlight Install

ok ok...need info on installing these, I'm sure threads like this have been posted but I can't search...tried doing a "Poor Man's Search" but nothing came up, I've tried to contact D_train7 & Kanaka but they don't respond...please let me know if anyone knows anything out there...

Regardless of anyone's opinion I think these look hot...this is a pic from Kanaka's install:

get a grinder, go to town .. that's really about all the instructions that you can find even with "real" search.. what would be most helpful to you would be pics of what needs grinded down, what needs removed.. etc etc etc.. but i have yet to see them..

and if you need the lights themselves, pm me, i'll sell you mine cheap, never got the grinder and went to town..

Chino, thanks for the pic bro. Do you know if he is using some kind of harness to be able to use the individual high and low beams on those skyline lights?
Oh, and how is fitment?

Oh, and how is fitment?

wiring the lights is the easy, no need for a harness, just cut and splice them in.. fitment is ehh... for most people it would be ok, but there is a gap along the front edge of the light, and possibly up top.. a body shop could get them to fit perfectly for the right price..

*notice* I don't have these installed, i'm paraphrasing what i had searched many times when i was going to do this and what I saw from test fitting my lights.. don't jump down my throat if you've heard different..

The headlamps "match" great when it comes to the "up/down" fit.
Meaning between the hood and the front bumper they are fine.

As far as the "side-to-side" fit--- you'll need a custom grill.
Something a bit shorter than the stock because the headlamps are longer than the stock headlamps. Also, your going to need some custom made brackets to hold the headlamps in- because the bolts used to hold the light to the car don't line up perfect either. As far as cutting is concerned. You may need to cut that J-shaped pillar out. The pillar I'm referring can be found by removing the turn signal lamp and there are bolts going thru it holding in the stock headlamp.

I hope this makes sense and will help you. This only applies to R32 style headlamps. The R33 and R34 seem a bit more complicated.

you will see it in about a week. I need to cut carefully in the housing...If ppl are gonna do these conversions... there is no goin back..I am sketchy on cutting too much cuz of the AC condensor. It is adjacent to where I am cutting... It looks like I might have to moddify the the headlights also cuz it is a bit longer and bulkier then stock, But the cool thing about the R33 headlight, the curve on it matches the max 95%..Ive gone this far so there is no way goin back...wish me luck.

Chino, I really hate those carbon fiber taillights (page 4) you have on, but with that body kit and black color of your car, those lights look fuking amazing... What kind of body kit is that and how much did it cost ?(and how much extra was it to pain it?)

Chino, You car is hot every time I see it.. Is your body kit fiber glass? Are there any fitment issues, there seems to be a fitment issue on your grill area.

Thanks everyone for you comments on my car, if you guys can please leave and rank my car at my cardomain site: http://maxima.cardomain.com/memberpage/442975/4

Oxidizer2k, I already bought my lights, my bodykit is a Skyline vIII and its Urethane, I paid $750 shipped on a group deal I got with CustomMaxima, it usually is around $1,200 shipped...there is a Group Deal going on right now for $745 shipped...
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=318668
As far as fitment, I had and I've see a couple of other people with a slight issue with the intergrated grill that I have another issue is the rear doors you have to shut them a little bit harder to close right since the side skirts add about 1/8" more at the bottom but you can always just sand that part down. If you seen my site you can see on page 1 the way my car was first modded, then on page 2 I got into an accident so rather than go stock I went with this kit...I spent about $5,500 to get my car fixed, bodykit mounted, the car completely debadged and repaint the whole car

2DaMax, like mrnock said the grill attached to the bumper as for the mesh inside the grill that's a Home Depot special, go to Home Depot, pickup a stack of "Gutter Guards" <~~ click, and for $6.97, you can cut it with some shears and make your own mesh rather than paying over hundreds of dollars for customized mesh

So that's an aftermarket front end, with the grill integrated to it?

**edit**

Nevermind, I answered my own question. It's the Skyline vIII Urethane Kit. That thing looks dope!!!
