What is the widest 18" rim to fit on a 1998 maxima SE without too much custom work

please someone help me out

i want to buy 18 inch rims, but i want to make them widebody please someone who knows for sure help me out!

It's not entirely a matter of wideness, only to a certain degree, you have to play with offsets too.

9" is probably the widest you can fit.

Without protruding from the wheel wells, 9.5" will fit up front, and 10.5" in back. I'll let you try to figure out the offsets, a vital dimension. Get it wrong and you will waste a lot of $$$.
Slammed95 what offset do you recomend going wide(9-10inches) in the rear?

I'm thinking of running 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear. What are the advantages you see with the wide rear?

Also, not to be a pest or a dumb@ss, but how do the offsets sizes work? the Bigger the offset size the more clearence between the tire and fender?Ex: 35mm on 9.5inches would have less clearence between the tire and fender compared to9.5inchs with 38mm?

maybe im just all around confused. I guess there is more to buying rims than I thought.

what the heck are offsets ect ect

do you think it is possible to get 9s in the front 10s in the back size 18 rim

i didnt know rims got this detailed please help me out guys im a rim noob.

Read "Shoptalk" on the .org homepage. Offset is a simple but vital dimension.
