Airbag light blinking, what to do??
All,
My airbag light has started blinking remains blinking and I was wondering if there was a way to diagnose/reset the light like the CEL. I have driver/passenger/side airbags. I really don't want to go to the stealership. Spoke to Jeff @ MaximumTuning and he said it was prob a bad connector under my seat which is a coincidence since the light started blinking right after i reached for something underneath my pass. seat, I check all connections under the seat, and everything seems tight. So basically, is there a way to reset the airbag light???
TIA

you can reset it but it will just keep doing it, it is the connector for the side airbags on the back of the seat, i think most maximas do this including ours. If you take it to nissan they will want you to replace the air bag connector harness on the back of the seat which will cost you $300, we got nissan to clean the contacts on the harness and it has been fine for awhile, but read the FSM for more info on either replacing the harness or cleaning the contacts on it

Someone do the class action law suit thing because think of the potential--you reset the lamp, it goes away for months, the car gets sold or traded-in, and an unsuspecting buyer picks it up only to get stuck with an airbag bill at a Nissan dealer. Oh well, I'm not gonna change the world from my pc here, right? Life goes on.
So true man.....I tried to call 1-800-nissan1 to complain but they said they have NEVER heard of this happening to a 4th gen.....funny how my dealer says its common and they just happen to have the passenger side side-airbag in stock.....
