Growling A/C compressor
I think this would require replacement of the compressor clutch (if that was indeed the problem). Most compressor clutches can be replaced without having to discharge the refrigerant, but I don't know if anyone has done this before. I also don't know if Nissan sells stand-alone clutches (a quick call to your dealer would let you know). My guess is that a factory service manual will probably be required if you fix it yourself.

Hey thanks for the reply. Im hoping I can do this on the car without loosing the refrigerant.
Anyone have a 96 service manual handy that can verify that this can be done on the car?
