I know that there are a LOT of links there, but I searched as best as I could. There are no difinitive answers (partially based on the nature of the "jackpot" code), but there is some information that you can use to self-diagnose.

If you have any info or contributions, please post them here. Questions welcome.

Sometimes you get a ghost code that stays off when reset, but typically the code will return if the problem is not fixed.

For reference, do you mind posting what you have tried?

I'm getting the 1008 Code which is the EVAP canister purge volume control valve. This code is setting off my knock sensor and BARO/MAP sensor as well. But after resetting the ECU, the Baro/Map has not come back, just the knock and the EVAP. I found out the part number for this so i hope this fixes the Code but I know its not the same part you guys are looking for. Goodluck with yours.

Quick questions. Do you guys know why my EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Valve is metallic and others is plastic? Could it be that there is a difference between Cali-spec and Fed?

I get all of the names of all of the components mixed up- which component are you referring to, and where is it located?

EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Valve. If you start from the 3rd to last letter of the VIN number which is stamped into the firewall, it is 3-5 inches towards the radiator. It has 2 hoses and a electrical harness. It is the Valve in picture A from this site. http://www.jcn.net/mwest/evappage.htm

Oh, I was thinking that you were talking about the EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve, which is at the rear of the car...
