Differences between the 4th gen maxes?
I think I heard somewhere it's best to get at least a 97 max. I'm just curious of the differences between the maxes between 95-99 and whether it is really too important.
Thanks.

If you can and you plan on modding, get a 97. They have the benefit of looking better because of the wheels and front and rear end improvements, but they can be chip modded. You can get an ECU mod for them. 98/99....you cannot get one for. People are working toward that (I have a 99), but nothing yet.
If you are not wanting to do much modding for performance, but just a few bolt-ons, you could get up to the 99 (just to get the newest 4th gen possible). You can still do a good bit of stuff to it, but there will be no need to get headers, MEVI, ECU, etc. I still have y-pipe, custom exhaust, RSB, FSTB, etc. There is still a good bit you can do to your car.
Hope this helps.
