You should at least replace the boot and maybe the whole axle depending on how long it's been ripped. If you're strapped for cash you can probably just keep going with the ripped one. I'm on 10 months, at least (I bought it that way).

yea, it just happened today cause alot of grease is on my rim. can i put some kind of seal on it? im to affraid to keep going with it cause#1 grease will keep fying all over the place and therefor i wont have any more grease in there and then what... a whole new axle.

Yep, I didn't know how long it had been ripped so I'm gonna get a new one eventually (I almost want to wait and see how long it will last ). I think a boot kit is like $30 and you could get a rebuilt axle for like $70 (after the core), so unless you plan on doing it yourself I don't know if you'd really save anything. If you want to just replace the boot you should do it immediately. I don't know if you could patch it but I guess it couldn't hurt. Some Ideas might be duct tape (probably wouldn't last long), bike (or other) tire patches...hmmmmm don't know what else.

yea, thanks for the response. im going to try some kind of rubber cement or silicone. worst thing is im going to have to get a new boot. i wonder how much is involved, meaning how hard it is if i try it.
