Painting front bumber lights red. Illegal?

I was wondering if it would be illegal to paint the front bumber lights red, using testors transparent canday apple red? I know I can just buy clear corners but I think this might look good and match the back lights, which will soon be painted the same color. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Yes, it's illegal. Don't do it.

The only color that are allowed in the front of the car is white and amber
In the rear its red and amber.

I know cuz I got pulled over and asked the officer.

Plus if it flashes red you are impersonating an officer
Green is for volunteer ambulance
Blue is Volunteer Fire

Sorry, I'm only 16, I gotta learn the laws somehow so asking is the only way I know without trying too hard. Thanks for the input though.

Asking isn't the only way. You could just look up your state laws online.

It all depends on the area you live in. I had hyper white turn signals in my clear lenses up front when I lived in North Carolina. But when I moved here to Virginia, they failed me in a split second on inspection. Also failed my aftermarket fogs cause they weren't 'DOT approved'... my ***!!! I just took them off, got inspected, then put them right back on.

I think the general law is as previously stated, white/amber (amber in VA...d!cks) up front, red/amber in rear. I also read somewhere that any shade between red and amber in the light spectrum is also legal.

White or amber up front and red/amber in the back are the only colors allowed.
