Suspension Pains!

Today is my second day installing Illuminas. The front went on good. I only had minor setbacks. I'm now working on the rear and running into an anoying problem. Everytime I try to tighten the center bolt on the strut, the whole piston rotates. What am I doing wrong? I can't get it to the correct ft-lbs because of it turning. Oh, and because it's my first time I have to ask another dumb question. Does the more compact side of the high performance springs always sit at the top of the strut? I have Vogtlands. Thanks alot.

ok if im understanding you correctly, you need to clamp the top of the piston with pliers or an adjustable wrench, then use a second wrench to tighten the nut.
near the end, when it is getting tight, you should be able to use your torque wrench without the entire piston moving.

hope that helps

you should be able to fit a open end wrench on the shaft and then tight the nut with a socket
