My front left brake caliper is seized, (ie, applying a little pressure and holding the pads against the rotor at all times). has anyone here every used one of the brake caliper rebuild kits? how much do they generally cost, and how hard is the rebuild to do for a first-timer. i will be replacing rotors and pads within the next week or two. getting the caliper off is not a problem, i know how to do all that, just wondering how hard it is to rebuild one, or should i just bite the bullet and buy a replacement?

thanks in advance,
Neal

It takes time and patience but this job can be done by the home mechanic. PartsAmerica.com lists Tru-Torque #D351458 caliper kit for $4 plus shipping. If you run into trouble you can still use your sticking caliper as a exchange core. Look at this as an educational opportunity.

PartsAmerica.com lists remanufactured calipers too.
A1 Cardone #191218 (right front) $40 + shipping + $50 core charge.
A1 Cardone #191219 (left front) $40 + shipping + $50 core charge.
