Polishing intake manifold & Valve cover

Any good advice out there on polishing the upper intake manifold and valve cover also possibly the timing chain cover. As far as the intake manifold, I'm assuming that sanding down the "gritty" outer area will require the most work but is there any advice/reccommendations on tools or procedures? Trying to go for the chromy stainless steel look. I was thinking maybe one of the wire wheels on a grinding bench to start and then working my way down from different grits of sanding finally to wet sanding??? Sounds labor intensive but well worth it to me. Any feedback?
