Greddy SP installation question

i recently purchased a used Greddy SP exhaust off of a 1998 Max. i know that there is a Greddy SP exhaust that is compatable with 97-99 cars. so that this should be compatable with my car since i have a 99 but i have noticed that there is an O2 sensor bung right after the cat, i was looking under my car and there is no such O2 sensor to be screwed into this bung. is this due to the fact my car is a 1999 SE-L with California Emissions?. has anyone else encountered this pronlem?
