timing chain noise fix

Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone got this fixed at the dealer and what the cost was. I really dont want to try to fix this on my own...i rather pay for it. Dont feel like messing around with the timing chain.

A rough idea on the cost might help me decide what to do about it

thanks,
Ken

Dont go to the dealer, unless money is not an option, but it seems to be since you're asking for the price. Change the tensioner, costs a lot less. Find a good mechanic to do it. Should cost, not at the dealership of course, less than 150 w/ parts and labor. $50/hr labor, ~80 for the part.

It cost 200 at the dealer. Don't pay more.

What noise are you hearing, are you 100% sure it's the timing chain?

yes i am pretty sure its the timing chain because its the same sound everyone has been posting about.

Crackleing noise coming from under the dash during morning and cold starts and then it goes away in a few mintues. Also a helicopter like sound at times..

Hmm. I'd get a couple of opinions because the timing chain really shouldn't have to be changed. It usually lasts the duration of the cars life.
