1.5" drop vs. 2" drop
i have been debating the same thing...1.5 or 2....see i would like to go 1.5 so i dont have to get the shocks and struts i can stay with the stock struts and shocks. but i think it would look cleaner witha 2 inch drop. espeacially with 17 in. rims.. whats your opinion??
i heard many different things..if you go 1.5 you dont need to shocks and struts if you go more than 1.5 you will need them.. so i will need them no matter what.. no matter how low i go? i didnt think anyone would answer my questions for that reason haa. thanks though
Do some research. If you get the tokio springs which provide a very minimal drop, you wont need new springs. If you get a drop of 1.5" it will take a longer time than a 2" spring to blow your struts or it may not.
You will need new struts, you could get away with it for a while, but you car will ride crappy, and eventually will blow as it wasnt designed for that type of load.
Do it once and do it right. Do some research and find a good setup that you can live with, and is good with your given environment. Take your time and read. Many people have spent a lot of money going thru various setups when they could have just done some research, and done it once and save a lot of time, money, and frustration.

yea i have been doing research.. just like i am right now. i think i am going to do it the right way like you said and save the money in the long run. thanks..now its time to save a little bit more money and go to work..

My estimate would be that a 2" drop would be .5" lower than a 1.5" drop, just my guess though. I have, had, a 1.75" drop with arospeeds.

are k-sport springs good??
you can buy them on ebay for 136$
i wouldnt buy them....you can.....again if ur looking into performance u cant just look at the drop....u have to compare rates to the drop....K-sports dont have as high rates as Eibachs i dont think.......my car sees lots o track time...so springs i dont mind spending money on....now u may ask y dont u just buy true coilovers....well those will put my car in a class where even with JIC i wouldnt be able to competitively compete....but again if i can get a good deal on true coilovers and have xtra cash to buy more stuff to be more competitve thats a different story......ok my rant is over

i think thet kick u up to SM2...i dunno ill have to check the rule book again...
but IMO if u dont care about handeling and want a nice drop go with progress...they handle pretty good though
i checked the rule book maybe i am wrong the rules fo STS say that "coil spring perches may be changed or altered, and their position may be adjuastable." so i to me thats says ride height adjustable and it says adjustable shock absorbers/struts are allowed which i know....so from what that tell me is coilovers are allowed.....so hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm coilvoers i may have to purchase

i had maxspeed before, and the car didn't even look like it was lowered. the ride is very firm. s-tech gives good drop in the front, but the rear is a bit too high. also, s-tech is soft.

s-tech front, tokico HP, 235/45/17

s-tech rear, kyb agx, 235/45/17
