5spd conv. performance probs???
I recently did a 5spd conversion on my 98 GLE and have run into some performance problems. I used a 96 I30t tranny with the ecu from that same donar car. I put in a Fidanza flywheel with an ACT clutch. (i know some people have problems with these wearing out etc)
The car feels great, and pulls fine through the gears its just in between gears is where i run into problems. During a WOT run, shifting near redline, 1st-2ndgear no problem because spins tires into 2nd. Now shifting from 2nd to 3rd. When i just let off the clutch and stomp on the gas the car, the car seems to "bog" for about a half second then finally begins to pull through 3rd gear. This also occurs shifting from 3rd to 4th and with a "bog" that is a full second.
The clutch seems to have no problems grabbing but does have the tendancy to shudder when revs are low and the clutch is being engaged. I know ACT clutches have that tendency to do that since i also have one in a miata.
I just don't know y i have this "bogging" sensation. It has the feel of almost dumping way to much fuel when i stomp on the gas after a shift.
I am stuck and dont really know where to start.
