Damage analysis**

Hey guys
i was unfortunate enough to get hit by a 16 year old driver who just got his lisence. I was hit starting at the begining of the passenger door all the way back to the back bumper. Basically i need two new doors and painting of the front and rear fenders and maybe a new bumer does anybody generaly what this should cost. The car is worth about $4700. So anybody with body shop ties please give me some estimates without pics for now.

Why should you have to worry about the cost??Shouldn't it be the other driver's insurance company that should be paying for the damages?

yes

yes they are paying but i am going to go to local bodyshops to find out what their estimate would be so i don't get screwed by the claims adjuster when he surveys the damage on my car. Anybodyknow how much it is to buy and paint new doors? any ball park numbers should help becuase i am freaking out because i can't go to a body shop until tomorow.

First of all your car is worth $6k+. I thought my 96 with 102k was worth $4800 til my adjustor said it's worth $6700.

Is the car driveable? If so take it to some reputable body shops in your area and get some estimates, I can guarantee you that the insurance company will look for the cheapest way out. Make sure that they use genuine NISSAN parts, not replicas, there are TONS of those (replicas) available and you can find them on eBay.......if you are looking for a cheap fix, you can use them, but I do not recommend it. In the long run the car will be devalued. In Georgia, you can specify what body shop you want used, even if the "other guys" insurance is going to pay. I have had this happen to me and I most definitely use the BEST body shop in town, it pays to get the best!
Good luck
John
