Jet Chip Upgrade and MEVI

Ok, maybe this has been covered before and I missed it, or, I am just missing something all togeather, but for the late model 4th gen's, people seem to possibly shy away from buying a MEVI because of the compatability issues with the JWT product. But if a raised redline is the issue, wouldnt the J.C.U be applicable?

edit:Ok..nevermind that. Just read the fine print. But anyhow, out of pure curiousity, why should I stay away from the Jet ECU?

What? What issues? People buy the JWT because they have a MEVI and vice versa. JET chip sucks ***** ok, gains are minimal, no raised rev-limiter. It just sucks. The JWT is loved by those who have it and some who don't. The raised red line, the mid range power gain. It's great.

JET doenst not know Nissans as well as JWT, so their product is inferior to JWT. Even thoguh they havent cracked the code for late model 4th gens, they may not have the time to do it.

And if they, JET or anyone else could raise the rev limiter, your post would have more replies.

Check the 98-99 ECU thread

By compatability with the JWT product, I meant for the the late model 4th gen's where they are not applicable. I know that they work very well with the earlier 4th gen's and was not saying otherwise. Sorry for not clarifing that at first. And with the Jet upgrade, I was simply going on what they said as they did claim they could raise the redline.

They may claim raised rev limits but as I said, if they dod they'd have a lot more maxima customers.

You have a '97, just get a 96 JWT and you'll be fine minus a CEL. TS ECU is "working" on the code for the late model 4th gens rev limiter.

I've got a 96 JWT ecu on a 97 with a cel but it's really no biggy. Just check for codes every month or so and you'll be fine.

Don't spend your money on anything else other than a JWT if your planning on going the mevi direction. Higher rev-limiter kicks _ss!
