I ordered the 1-touch sunroof mod from www.AutoLoc.com today. The guy said that it is a very basic installation and will make the sunroof 1-touch-open and 1-touch-close. I was wondering if anyone else has completed this modification and if it was hard to install, approximate time...etc? Thanks, and advice or comments are appreciated.

For Real....

We were just talking about the 1 touch last week. Thanks for the link. I haven't checked it out yet but I'm about too. Good luck.

I don't know what the part number is. I just called the 1-800 number from the webpage and told the guy the year of my car and he sent it to me. It costed 45 bucks (which includes shipping). It is supposed to be a very simple DIY install, but it just somehow never seems to work out that way. I'll let you know.

I called the guy back today and he said that the tilt fuction will still be fully operational. I should have the install complete by monday, I'll post pics when I'm finished! I also had a unique idea...I was going to move the sunroof switches from the roof, onto the dash somewhere and put in one of those flip down TV screens. What is everyone's opinion on that? Thanks.

Please keep us posted as you get more information on this. I am very interested in have this feature installed on my Maxima. I e-mailed the company, and they told me that "ease of installation varies from car to car", and that it would cost me $35, but I imagine that that price didn't include shipping. Anyways, please be sure to link us to the install instructions when you get them up!

Thanks,
-Nick

P.S. The idea with the flip down TV thing would be cool, but I imagine it would cost a pretty penny for someone to install it for you, unless you are good with that kinda stuff...then, go for it!!

Later!

Yeah, it was $35 plus $10 for shipping. If this works out well, i'm going to get the one-touch up and down for all 4 windows! As far as the TV is concerned, I can move the switches myself pretty easily, I wouldn't be comfortable doing the TV though. I'm going to check around on some installation prices though. I'll keep everyone posted on the 1-touch instructions and have them up monday or tuesday of next week.

I'm not sure what you mean by your last question. The audi idea is good, but like you said, may be a little ridiculous money wise.

I was talking about how with the remote you can have the front windows come down.. if you could tap the rear windows and sunroof into that.. HMM?? or if there is somewhere that can do it for you reasonably cheap.. im not looking to spend 500 on someone doing something that isnt that important..

I bought my car with the sunroof. Only later did I realize it wasn't the factory one. It has tilt and one button open and close. The only problem is now it rattles over any little bump whether its opened or closed. Also, if you don't get the wind deflector and you drive fast with it open, its worse. I would never put in an aftermarket sunroof or buy a car with one. just my two cents.

Hmm, that is a really good idea. I'm sure it can't be that hard. Time for a new thread on this, time to ask Danny B.
