rewire bright cornere but didnt rewire!!

Hello All.

Was Changing the headlights in my brothers Max (95 Auto), his old one was cracked and would steam out and get all wet on the inside, with a new headlight and housing bracket, I installed it. I was putting the corner light back in and tested to make sure all was working fine, when I realized the corner light, (same side I was changing the head lights) was bright as if I had re-wired for bright corners. I dont know how I did it but was wondering if anyone has any explanation that could help identify the solution.

I took out the corner light and disconnect power, but did nothing with the light bulb it self. I would be cool to find the culprit, maybe it would be a new way to get brighter corners without even having to re-wire.

thanks for the help.

was the blinker on? cause that sounds to me like what happened...

on my car the socket for the corner light only had one wire going to it. So all i did was add an extra contact and wire to the socket and power that one up so now my 1157 runs off the brighter fillement. Cause i found putting the bulb in backwards and shaving it doesnt always sit well.

my .o2!

maybe higher voltage buld.? compared to the other side, have someone out side of the car lookinh at the cornners, and give the turn siglan to both sides, see if both of them become brighter.

That bulb is a dual filament (even though only one is used, its a brake light bulb) and if turned 180 deg it will burn very bright on the other filament which is the brake filament. There is a FAQ on it somewhere. Usually you have to file one nub off to get it to fit though.

I'll do some more reading about it, but the funny thing is nothing was done to the light buld, I was putting in the light housing brackets and took out the side corner light, but never the bulb, I only went as far as to pull out the bulb and unit from inside the corner light, but never took the light bulb out of the socket.

the blinker wasnt on, I know that for sure cause I put on the blinker to see if it would get brighter, but didnt, but his other side corner light is still dim.

Needless to say I was a bit envyou cause I am about to rewire my corners to be brighter and some how I made his brighter with no rewire!!

its strange, just disconnected and re-connected the power cable to the light that was it, but I'll check in the faqs plus check with his car again this weekend when I'm doing some work on mine as well.

if you out the bulb in teh wrong way it makes it brighter. there really is no sence in cutting and soldering the wires when you can do it just as effective and better than rewireing.

cut the lower kunb on the bulbe off and but the bulbs in very easy.
